I’ve been a bad blogger

However, I’ve been creatively occupied elsewhere.

Our “school year” as it is starts in the second week of September, and hopefully I’ll have more interesting items to show then. At the moment, the kids are swimming and lounging. Perfect for me.

To get back into the swing of blogging things, I’m going to reintroduce the cottage moment and then in September be back to regular posts. These will not include regular blogs about food. One thing I learned about myself is that I HATE taking photos of food. Hate it. Not sure why since I love to cook it, but that’s just the way it is.

One project done.

In my quest to get my projects off my needles, I have finally completed one of the many projects I talked about here. At long last, the first of many is done!

What I probably shouldn’t admit is that since joining the knitting circle (motivation to complete all the project I currently have) I’ve bought yarn for two more projects. I guess I’m going to be a permanent fixture in the circle.

AWESOME!

On Mother’s Day, Colin made me a lovely dinner and the kids presented me with a bag of wee gifties. One of the items in the bag was The Book of Awesome. Colin had no idea that I’d been following the blog for some time and really wanted the book.

Awesome! I’ve been flipping through it and it truely is.

We finished dinner with a cake sporting the closest thing they could find to a tulip.

So, all in all, an awesome Mother’s Day around here.

Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely day. We’ve had a huge change of weather here - last week it was terribly hot and this morning we woke up to frost and some scattered flurries around town.

I’m having a lovely day despite the weather. My children gave me two bundles of tulips last night. This morning I had Starbucks in bed with the kids playing around me (almost spilled my coffee…). We went out for breakfast/brunch and Colin is making dinner.

We just set up a bon fire in the backyard which I’m off to enjoy with tea and scones.
